The Photography Collections contains over 15,000 images, most
pertaining to nineteenth and early twentieth century Columbia River materials.
The collection is best accessed by either subject or by vessel name. The museum
is in the process of making samples of the photo collections available for
online viewing. (Click on the link below to view shipwreck image series).
Features of the collection include:
- Shipwrecks at the mouth of the Columbia River
- Steamboats on the Columbia River
- Fishing activities and vessels
- U.S. Navy, WWII
- Cannery operations on the river (including BumbleBee/CRPA)
- Views of Astoria, Oregon and other communities along the river
- Large sailing vessels from the 19th & 20th centuries
