Group tour reservations are available for organizations with at least 10 planned visitors to the Museum. Group tour reservations are not available for families or social gatherings. In order to ensure the best possible experience for your group, please schedule your group's visit with Museum staff at least two weeks in advance.
Why not experience the museum through the eyes of one of our expert trained volunteers? Simply request a Docent Led Group Tour. Docent led group tours are free for up to 30 people. If you opt for a Docent Tour, prepare to be led through our galleries and to be amazed with the stories behind the artifacts.
TACTILE TOURS
Tactile tours at the Columbia River Maritime Museum provide a more accessible opportunity for visitors to learn about Columbia River history through touch and verbal description. Your tour will stop around several of the museum’s galleries and include opportunities to handle a Coast Guard Immersion Suit, pelts from the maritime fur trade, and pieces from a Fresnel lighthouse lens.
Tactile tours are intended for those who are blind, visually-impaired, or feel their experience at the museum would be improved with more hands-on opportunities. You can request a tactile tour on our Group Reservation Form. In order to ensure the best possible experience for your group, please give us at least two weeks’ notice prior to your visit.
