SUMMER LEARNING LABS for GROUPS!
Learning doesn't stop when the school year ends! Join us for a fun-filled summer Learning Lab for Groups! Visiting groups can choose from two hands-on opportunities to learn more about the maritime world. Tuesdays & Thursdays, July 1 - August 31, 2024. Tuesday earliest start 1:00PM, Thursday earliest start 10:00AM Engineering PFD's (Personal Flotation Devices) Participants will learn what a PFD does, the five styles/categories, then work in teams to create a PFD for a can of soup. Best for grades 4th - 12th, program run time 30 minutes Sum of the Parts Participants will create a part of a river and discuss point and non-point source pollution along the Columbia River. Best for grades 4th - 12th, program run time 30 minutes Group Size: up to 30 youth in a session Rotations available for groups over 30 Adult chaperone ratio 1:5 Aides admitted for free when patron has a 1:1 aide |
Fees: $100 includes educational program, admission to the Museum and Lightship Columbia (open 11A - 3P) for youth and 1:5 ratio chaperones Add Ons: Onsite, Indoor Lunch as space allows - no charge Lunch at Warnock Model Boat Pond - $25 flat fee (includes staff, R/C boats, stools, trashcan and bathroom access) Scavenger Hunts - three levels available - no charge |
