ART, AHOY! SUMMER CAMP for 5-13 year olds
Monday - Friday, August 26 - 30, 2024 9:00AM - 1:00PM each day Barbey Maritime Center on the Museum's Campus 2042 Marine Drive, Astoria, OR Offered over five days, this camp is all about art and exploration! Each day, youth will participate in at least 4 STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) projects lead by instructors and CRMM educators. Projects will be a mixture of medias, and instructors will be on hand to assist your youth in creation. There will be movement and brain breaks through the day both indoors and outdoors, so please dress/pack accordingly. Member Youth $80 (*), Non-Member Youth $100 (*) (*) 10% discount offered for each sibling registration All abilities welcome. All participants must be potty trained. |

Games range from one to six players and can take 10 - 30 minutes to play.

Liberty Factory: The Untold Story of Henry Kaiser's Oregon Shipyards Hear from Peter Marsh as he describes how the yards achieved amazing results by recruiting thousands of workers from all over the USA and training 30,000 women to become welders and machinists. This effort involved all the ports on the lower Columbia River - including Astoria, where many of these ships were outfitted, and a local boatyard built 136’ wooden minesweepers. Starts promptly at 11:00AM with seating for 50. |
