This portrait of a young man with braided hair, nose ring and tattooed forehead accompanied the journals and maps of Cook's third expedition.  Together with other illustrative plates by Webber, it offers the reader a glimpse into the life and character of the natives living on the West Coast of Vancouver Island at the time of first contact by Europeans.
